How It Happened.

Cricket was my life. I was playing at a good level and had made a name for myself in the sport. My fitness and dedication set me apart. At 39, I was fitter than most people my age.

But life had a lesson waiting for me. And a Good One!

One day, I injured my shoulder. At first, I ignored it, thinking it was just a minor strain. For about two months, I carried on, hoping it would heal on its own. But as the cricket season approached, the pain became unbearable. I couldn’t even raise my shoulder past a certain point. Finally, I gave in and saw a doctor.

The diagnosis was clear and harsh—a massive tear in my shoulder that required immediate surgery. I booked the surgery, but deep down, I wasn’t ready to give up on my body’s ability to heal itself naturally. That’s when yoga came into my life.

I started with the basics, learning each pose . At first, it was just a way to rehabilitate my shoulder, but soon, yoga became so much more. It wasn’t just about the physical healing—But Something in me Changed .

My Journey: From Strength to Self-Discovery

Yoga wasn’t just a practice for me—it was a turning point. When I first stepped onto the mat, my goal was simple: restore my physical strength. But what unfolded in the first six months was beyond anything I could have imagined. Yoga didn’t just restore my body—it made me feel younger, sharper, and deeply connected to myself in ways I’d never experienced before.

This newfound connection sparked a profound curiosity within me: Could I heal myself from within? Could I find peace, balance, and joy that comes not from external sources but from within myself?

Driven by these questions, I immersed myself in learning. I attended Sadhguru’s Inner Engineering program, where I was introduced to the idea of Higher consciousness and higher states of being. The practices I learned there opened a doorway to deeper exploration. I found myself captivated by the endless dimensions of yoga, self-healing, and consciousness. Its been 3 Years Now and Yoga & Meditation has just become a Part of me .

And Finally That’s when the idea for Get Fit With Sid (GFS) came to life. I wanted to create a space where people could learn the tools for sustainable health—yoga, mindfulness, and natural practices—tools that no one else was teaching. GFS became my way of empowering others, especially young people, to take charge of their health without shortcuts or harmful practices.

Today, GFS stands for more than just fitness. It’s about balance, awareness, and making fitness a way of life. My mission is simple: to help people discover their true potential—mentally, physically, and spiritually—just as I did.

What is Fitness According to Me ?

When I first started my fitness journey, I believed it was about reaching a certain goal—a specific weight, strength level, or endurance marker. But over time, I’ve come to realize that fitness is something far greater and far less tangible. It’s not a destination you arrive at; it’s a constant evolution.

The truth is, fitness can never be fully defined because it’s always changing—shaped by new experiences, challenges, and personal growth. If anyone claims they truly know what fitness is, they’re missing the point. Even I, after years of training and self-discovery, can’t fully define it.

If I had to put it into words, though, I’d say fitness is the moment when you transcend what you thought was possible—when you turn from a human into something greater, something superhuman. It’s about breaking limits, not just in the gym or on the mat, but in life. But Yoga is not about being Superhuman, Yoga is about Realizing Being Human is Super.

To me, that’s what fitness is all about: a journey of transformation, where every step takes you closer to becoming the best version of yourself.
